I've been getting treatments and advice from Kelly throughout my powerlifting career. I can confidently say that the help I have received from her has been amazing and pivotal in my recovery from any niggles or tightness.

 

Her mobility advice is also fantastic and has definitely helped me maintain great form during lifts. Everyone who I have recommended to Kelly has commented on how fantastic she has been!

I first went to see Kelly for a sports massage following a recommendation from a friend back in March 2019...I had been suffering with pain in my IT band since my first half marathon in October 2018 & hadn't been able to run more than 2-3 miles since.

Kelly was so lovely, smiley & welcoming and I felt comfortable with her straight away! Kelly was so professional & I could tell she knew exactly what she was talking about. I told her what problems I had been having & after my hour session which helped no end, Kelly gave me some home exercises to do. Within about 6 weeks, I was back to normal & could run again.

 

I will always use Kelly during my training for any races as she knows just what to do to keep muscles in full working order.

During my time with Kelly, I have had regular fortnightly sessions but she provides so much more. She is in regular contact and has provided me with conditioning, mobility and throwing plans all designed to suit me and my needs at different points in my development.

 

Kelly is always available to discuss technique, review training videos and provide competition preparation. She also attends many of my competitions travelling at her own expense to support, encourage and motivate. It feels as if I receive much more support and training than one session a fortnight due to this consistent contact and feedback. 

 

Kelly is one of the most positive people I have ever met and it’s evident throughout every training session we’ve had. She always encourages self reflection after a throw before she provides her accurate and detailed feedback, resulting in me now understanding and having the ability to analyse my own throwing technique correctly which is a huge asset to me as an athlete. She has helped teach me this through the use of regular video recordings and through the use of specific ‘cues’ which we have found provide huge improvements to my technique. Also, Kelly is great at finding innovative ways to make training sessions different and fun whilst still having huge benefits on my throwing.  

 

Kelly has kept a keen eye on my physical development over the years. She has tailored my strength and conditioning work to my physical growth and restricted my strength work to those exercises suitable to my physique. When my body wasn’t fit for heavy strength work, she instead concentrated on my technique, mobility and functional movements, so that when I grew, my technique was embedded and my mobility was good enough so we could then focus on developing the strength and power work to put into my throwing. Kelly has always been spot on in her assessments of my development and her emphasis on the long term which can be seen in my recent boost in performance. Kelly sharply tracks my physical condition and sets strict restrictions/exercises whenever I have had niggles and although this has caused a little frustration at times, it has led to me recovering quickly and fully instead of turning into long term serious injuries.  

 

Simply, Kelly is a fantastic coach and a top-drawer person who I would unreservedly recommend to any athlete young or old.

Within my bodybuilding training intensity and volume is often taken to the extreme and like any sport at a top level with this comes some niggles and issues. 

Having Kelly be a regular part of my recovery program for the past 5 years has been extremely beneficial to my training, allowing me to continue training to the best of my ability. 

I always take the time to pick her brains during sessions about various things and she’s always great at giving advice for prehab and rehab that I can then take away and implement in my own time. 

Having Kelly keep me in a good place physically has helped me progress consistently year on year within bodybuilding and I am extremely grateful!

BRAZILIAN JUI-JITSU (MICHAEL JOHNSTON, INFORMED PERFORMANCE)

At a colleague's recommendation, I recently contracted Kelly to deliver a mobility workshop for a group of elite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes.

 

On the day itself Kelly provided an excellent session and was able to engage and educate a group that contained a wide range of ages and experience. While Kelly clearly has a deep knowledge and understanding of the area of flexibility and mobility, it was the time that went into taking this knowledge and applying it the Jiu Jitsu that really stood out to me, with Kelly even going as far as attending a class to ensure what she was delivering fitted the athletes specific needs.

 

I will be using Kelly again for future work shops and have no hesitation in recommending her.

NICK RIDGEON

Kelly has delivered javelin technical and strength and conditioning sessions as part of the England Athletics National Youth Talent Programme (YTP) and Regional Training Days.

 

As part of her javelin sessions, Kelly has supported athletes and their personal coaches to review their technical abilities and make development plans to address any key areas of skill development. Kelly’s engaging and collaborative delivery style enables her to check and challenge personal coaches and athletes in a non-judgemental and supportive manner, enabling them to reflect against a framework, review their practice and thinking and make appropriate adaptations to their practice.

 

As part of her strength and conditioning sessions, Kelly has explored various recovery, mobility and stability modalities with the athletes and their personal coaches. Kelly’s differentiated and accessible facilitation style enables those personal coaches and athletes to understand and apply complex scientific theory into their daily training and coaching practice.

Kelly has been a key part of my team for many years now. I like how she strikes a perfect balance between being led by the client whilst also suggesting innovative ideas to help provide a unique therapy experience. If I ever go to her with any niggles or injuries, she always thinks outside of the box to assess where the problem could be coming from and not only how to fix it, but how to prevent it from happening again. I really trust Kelly with looking after my body and always see her throughout the season to ensure my body is able to race and train at a high level.

I always leave the appointment feeling better physically and mentally after having treatment and chatting any niggles through and how I can work on them. I can't thank Kelly enough for all the time and effort she has and continues to put into me.

I first met Kelly after my coach had recommended her to me in a search to get rid of a niggling pain behind my knee which other physios had been unable to fix.

 

My first impressions of Kelly were overwhelmingly positive; she was an extremely enthusiastic individual who also pays meticulous attentional detail and is forensic in her diagnosis and subsequent treatment.

 

Since first working with Kelly over a year ago, we have worked on particular areas such as correcting my knee alignment (allowing me to squat correctly and improving my running mechanics), releasing tension from my back and shoulders (which become particularly tight due to studying and therefore releasing them has improved my performance) and we have increased mobility and range of movement of my shoulder through working on my pecs and shoulders (which has allowed me to improve on my relay technique and be able to receive the baton correctly).

 

When meeting her for the first time, you will find Kelly a bubbly personality who shows genuine care and a strong desire to help. She is extremely knowledgeable and is constantly looking at ways to improve the services she offers. Overall, she gives her all to every customer and is both warm and welcoming to everyone.

BRITISH WEIGHTLIFTING

Kelly was tasked with creating a BWL Flexibility / Mobility Guide alongside delivering a 6 week Zoom flexibility / mobility series to the athletes during lockdown.

 

She did a great job of helping us to keep our leading athletes connected, leading a variety of well-organised virtual mobility sessions over Zoom. Kelly really made an effort to understand the requirements of the sport when working on our athlete mobility guide to ensure what she was delivering mapped back to the weightlifting key determinants.

After moving from Cardiff to be based in Loughborough, my coach recommended her. Having heard good things from friends I did not hesitate. Turns out they couldn’t have been any more correct.
 

Kelly is a crucial member of my team and has been a part of the transformation of my athletics. Upon first meeting her, she was super welcoming and took a keen interest in me as a person. We then began this incredible journey where she has continuously improved my body’s ability to perform at higher level.

Kelly is very meticulous in her approach, furthermore her knowledge and experience allows for detailed diagnosis and feedback. Kelly does more than just seeking to repair your body. She looks to advise on how you can continuously improve your range and mobility. She explains what she’s doing, and why, to ensure the session tackles the need of the client.
