As a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist working from Shepshed and employed as the Loughborough University Athletics Soft Tissue Therapist, I treat a range of people from admin workers with sore necks/backs etc, to Olympians and Paralympians who are on their journey to the podium!

Sports massage is a combination of techniques using my palms, elbows, fingers and thumbs to increase the pliability and circulation in muscle tissue to relieve aches and pains. You don’t have to be ‘sporty’ to have a sports massage! Some people book in when they have painful areas of their body or when they feel they are injured, whereas others book in for maintenance to mitigate injury risk.

Sports massages do involve a fair amount of pressure in order to illicit changes in muscle tissue, unlike a normal massage which is softer. PERFORMOBILITY clients often call me ‘The Kelbow’!

Over the last few years I have undertaken additional training in acupuncture, spinal manipulation and visceral manipulation to enable me to offer different methods of treatment.

COVID-19: I am ensuring I am working within the Government Health & Safety Legislation guidelines with all clients

PERFORMOBILITY TREATMENTS INCLUDE:

HEALTH

SCREENING

I will ask a series of questions about medical health and take blood pressure if required (this is not diagnostic) to ensure I am delivering  the best treatment suited to you.

POSTURAL

ASSESSMENT

I aim to piece together what may be causing pain or tightness from the way your muscles and joints are held and the way you move.

JOINT & MUSCLE TESTING

Pre and post testing will help us both to understand how the sports massage has affected the soft tissues using a quantitative measure.

SPORTS MASSAGE

A range of firm pressing techniques using palms, elbows and thumbs to temporarily relieve tight or painful muscles.

INJURY PREVENTION

I will give you home flexibility and mobility advice to help make a more permanent change to your muscular pain and tightness.
